It is with a sad heart that we have heard that George Sinclair has passed away peacefully in his sleep on 26th April following many years of living with Parkinson’s Disease.
As you will know George was Group Scout Leader at 1st Thornbury and involved with the group for over 25 years, finally retiring from scouting in 2000, aged 60. It was a great honour that in recognition of his contribution and years of service that the Park Road headquarters was renamed Sinclair Hall.
I wanted to let you know that his funeral service (which we are calling a “Celebration”) will be held at Bristol Memorial Woodlands on Tuesday 23rd May at 2pm.
Please share the news of my father’s passing with current and former members of 1st Thornbury Scouts; it would be greatly appreciated by the family. There may be some former beavers, cubs and scouts who are now parents themselves, or leaders who might like to attend the service of celebration.
